Harvey Jernigan, husband of Sara Jernigan former Professor of Physical
Education and Women's Athletic Director, passed away Wednesday morning,
January 5. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
January 8, at Oakdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
contributions be made to the Harvey Jernigan memorial scholarship fund
for the Stetson University College of Law.
Russell and Irene Johnson, of the American Friends Service Committee,
will be discussing "World Wide Concerns for Peace", in the Faculty
Lounge on Sunday, January 9th, at 3:00 p.m. The Johnson's have
traveled extensively, including India, Russia, South Korea, and China.

An open discussion of "Values in the Curriculum" with Earl McGrath is
planned for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11th, in the Faculty Lounge.
The meeting is hosted by the Faculty Senate Curriculum Study Committee.

The University Woman's Club Centennial Luncheon will be held Saturday,
January 15. We will meet in DeLand Hall for appetizers, move to
Chaudoin Hall for the salad and main dish, and finish with dessert in
Sampson Hall. This is an opportunity to tour the buildings (Chaudoin
Hall has just been redone) and see the Turn-of-the-Century art exhibit.
Guests are welcome, so this is a good time to invite your local friends
to join us in this centennial celebration. Reservations and checks
for $6.50 per person (made out to the University Woman's Club) can be
sent to Sue Vedder, Campus Box 1387 by January 10. For more information, call Sue at 734-5186.
