The Military Science Department has announced the selection of Dr. Kevin
O'Keefe to attend the Military History Workshop to be held at the United
States Military Academy, West Point, from 24 June to 30 July. The
purpose of the workshop is to better prepare those history professors
who are teaching or agree to teach American or World Military History in
support of the ROTC program.
Dr., Thomas Lick, Department of Physics, has been awarded a grant from the
Research Corporation in the amount of $13,719 for a two year study of
electron tunneling in (Spinel) MgAl_04. Two physics majors are being
employed to assist in the project which involves a study of luminescence
produced by x-ray excitation of spinel crystals.
Dr.. Garry Fleming, Assistant Professor of Finance, presented his paper
entitled "A Note on the Measurement of Industrial Stability" to the Mid-
Continent Regional Science Association in Cincinnati, Ohio, May 14-16.
Dr., Brad Crain, Department of English, has been invited to become Head
of the Department of Languages and Literature at Armstrong State College
in Savannah, Georgia. Dr. Crain will assume his new responsibilities
in September, 19 81.
