The Visiting Committee from The Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools met with the President's Cabinet on February 11 to report
briefly on the results of their evaluation. The University will receive
the written report of the visit in approximately one month.
The Committee was very grateful for the openness and warmth of their
reception on our campus. They were very complimentary of the faculty
and staff both for their dedication and the quality of their work. In
general their response to our entire program was quite favorable. They
pointed to a number of problem areas and made some recommendations which
were not unexpected. When the written report is received, detailing
these recommendations, I will share them with you.
I would like to express appreciation again to Professor Medlin and his
Steering Committee as well as to all of the faculty and staff whose
participation made this a successful Self-Study.
