UNIVERSITY PICNIC
FREE FOOD ****** FUN ****** SWIMMING ****** ACTIVITIES ****** PRIZES ***
There will be a University picnic for all Faculty, Staff and Dependents
at the University swimming pool on Tuesday, July 28, 1981, from 6-8 pm.
There will be planty of food, drinks, fun and prizes. Dress for a good
time.
BUDGET EXPENDITURES
Budget supervisors are reminded that appropriations for capital and
equipment will not be released for requistioning until later in the fiscal
year. These appropriations under sub-account numbers—6015. Budget
supervisors with such appropriations will be notified by the Budget Committee when these funds are released.
BUILDING TEMPERATURES
Federal regulations on temperature controls in public buildings have
been withdrawn. However, as previously announced, the University continues
to observe the 78° cooling standard (within the limits of its building
systems controls). Your understanding cooperation is appreciated.
ELECTRICAL ENERGY CONSERVATION
Structural changes in the rate tariffs by the PSC have given the
University an enormous additional increase in the cost of electricity.
Please make every effort to conserve; the help of each individual is
needed and will make a difference.
POSTAGE CHARGES FOR INDIVIDUAL DEPARTMENTS
Revised procedures for the allocation of postage costs within the
University budget have been announced to budget supervisors. This notice
is published as a matter of record. Any budget supervisor, whose budget
area uses the U.S. Postal Service, should already have instructions on
the new procedures. For any clarification, please contact Mr. Johnson,
Ext. 590, or Mrs. Stevens, Ext. 365.
WATER SHORTAGE
The St. Johns River Water Management District has declared a water
shortage and issued a series of conservation measures. The University
is complying with the requirements. The community will be interested that
large parts of the campus are irrigated by water from heat pump air conditioning units and this irrigation is permitted under the District's orders.
