Jeff Tyson
Dr. Gary Fleming, Assistant Professor of Finance, had his article entitled
"Measuring the Relative Stability of the Virginia Economy: An lnput-0u£put
Approach" published in the November, 19 80, issue of the Virginia Social
Science Journal.
Harry Garber of the School of Business Administration attended the recent
meetings of the Southern Management Association and the Southern Marketing
Association which were held in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Faculty: The countdown for Spring Term is NOW! Please be sure your textbook orders have been submitted to the bookstore. All students in Winter
Term classes should be notified that Winter Term books will be removed
from the shelves beginning Monday 19.
In an effort to be more informative concerning campus events a weekly
schedule will be published in the Faculty Bulletin. If you have programs,
speakers or happenings of interest to any segment of the campus please
notify the Director of the Carlton Union at ext. 254. We are sincerely
interested in publishing your event so please keep us informed.
Michael W. Raymond's essay "Exercising the Critical Imagination: Reading,
Thinking, and Writing in the Literature Class" has been accepted for
publication in Exercise Exchange.
A calendar poster is available for persual in the office of the Dean of
the University which describes the NEH Summer Seminars for College Teachers
for 1981. It lists 115 seminars in various disciplines of the humanities
and the humanistic social sciences. College teachers selected to participate in the program will receive a stipend of $2,500 to cover travel expenses to and from the seminar location, books and other research expenses,
and living expenses for a tenure period of two full months. The application deadline is April 1, 1981.
