Faculty and Staff are invited to make recommendations for the 1982 Algernon Sydney
Sullivan Award. This Award is given to the man and the woman from the graduating
senior class whose personal example and influence throughout the campus best exemplifies the finest spiritual qualities of humanity and high character. This Award is
considered the highest recognition which the University can give to a student. Nominations should be submitted to Dean Garth Jenkins no later than Friday, April 23.
The 1983 Winter Term theme "The Interplay of Faith and Reason" may already run through
several of your courses in its broad outline. Perhaps you could sit down and pull
these ideas together giving them focus in a "theme related" course offered during the
Centennial Year Winter Term.
The Annual Faculty vs. Lady Hatters Softball Game is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 28. If you are interested in playing, contact Al Wehrle, ext. 322, or Joe
Dowdell, ext. 270. A practice or two will be scheduled before the game.
Dr. James Wright served as a judge for the finals in the One-Act Play competition for
the South Region of the state high school Thespian Society held in Orlando April 1 and 2.
Dr. Donald W. Musser, Department of Religion, has had his review of John Milet, God
or Christ? The Excesses of Christocentricity, accepted for publication in the Newsletter of the Contemporary Christology Group of the American Academy of Religion.
Dr. Jean David, School of Business Administration, chaired the session on EMPLOYMENT
ISSUES and presented her paper, "The Two-Income Household: A Survey of the Orlando-
Florida, Metropolitan Area" at the Annual Meeting of the Southwestern Social Science
Association held March 17-20 in San Antonio, Texas.
A third edition of Basic Spanish: Essentials for Mastery, of which Dr. Gerald Anderson
is co-author, was published by Harper and Row in February.
