IMPORTANT EVENTS
Wednesday, January 13 10:20 - 10:50 a.m. UNIVERSITY WORSHIP SERVICE
The Artist's and Lecturers will sponsor a program on Korean dance and poetry by Won
Kyung Cho, January 11 and 12. The program will be at Stover Theatre at 8:00 p.m.
each night.
Three members of the Stetson community are involved in the next production at Shoestring Theatre, "The Lion in the Winter." Dr. Gerald Critoph will play Henry II of
England and Elizabeth Carson will play Princes Alais. Miss Carson played the lead
role in the Stover production of "The Barretts of Wimpole Street" last semester.
Another student, Pamela Marlowe, is the play's stage manager. The play will open
on Friday evening, January 15 at 8:15 p.m. and continue on January 16,17,21,22,23,
and 24. Sunday matinees are at 2:30 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling
734-9810, 7-9 p.m. after Monday, January 11.
The film "College Can Be Killing", which deals with depression and suicide among
college students, will be shown Wednesday, January 13, at 9:00 p.m. in the Coffee
House in correlation with the SUB's weekly Happy Hour. The Department of Residential
Life would appreciate it if you could inform your students of this worthwhile event.
Faculty members are also invited.
The Small Business Development Regional Center will sponsor an Export Seminar, January
14, 1982 which will be held in room 205 Davis Hall from 8:30-4:30. Cosponsors are
the Deland-West Volusia Committee of 100, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Small
Business Administration and the DeLand/Deltona SCORE chapter.
Stetson Union Board sponsors: The World Famous Royal Lipizzan Stallions will be
performing Wednesday, January 20, in the Edmunds Center, at 8:00 p.m. This spectacular equine event should prove entertaining to the young and old.
All faculty, staff and students are entitled to the discount tickets for $5.00 with
an I.D. Tickets are available in room 213 of the Carlton Union Building.
Michael W. Raymond's essay "One Holistic Approach to Teaching Writing", has been
accepted for publication in Structuring for Success in the English Classroom:
Classroom Practices in Teaching English, 1981-1982 by the National Council of Teachers
of English.
