I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lt. Col. Alfred Wehrle as Registrar to
replace Mrs. Helen Sassard who is retiring August 31, 1982.
Col. Wehrle has just retired from the Army after a distinguished career, the last
five years of which were spent on our faculty as Professor and Chairman of the
Department of Military Science.
Col. Wehrle did his undergraduate work at the University of Connecticut and has a
Master's degree from Ball State University.
I speak for the University in expressing appreciation to the Search Committee
composed of Professors Wayne Bailey, Maxine Patterson, and Robert Rich, Mr. Gary
Meadows and Dr. Garth Jenkins, Chairman.
We wish Col. Wehrle well in his new appointment.

Faculty and staff involved in Advance Registration are reminded that the program will
take place on Saturday, July 17. We are expecting 300 new students and their parents.
The advising will take place between 10:30 and 3:00 in the following locations:
Liberal Arts - Stetson Room, CUB
Business Administration - 204-205, CUB
Music - Presser Hall
Pre-registration will take place in the Stetson Room from 10:45 until 3:00. Please
contact Mark McMaster, ext. 350, if you have questions about any of these matters.

Dr. James C. Wright served as a judge for north state finals of the Florida High
School Thespian Society held May 13-15 at Florida Southern College. Judging areas
were one act play, scene design, and costume design.
