ANNOUNCEMENTS
SABBATICAL APPLICATIONS ARE DUE OCTOBER 25. Applicants are to: 1) submit ten (10) copies of their
complete application to their department chair. (If applicant is a department chair, he/she submits application to the
Dean and reminds the dean to write the detailed evaluation); 2) submit one (1) complete copy of their application to the
Office of Academic Affairs (Unit 8358 or 1st floor DeLand Hall); and 3) submit one extra copy of the "Sabbatical Leave
Application Form" (cover sheet only) to the chair of the Professional Development Committee: Tandy Grubbs, Unit
8276 or Room 252 Sage Hall. Applications received in the Office of Academic Affairs after October 25 at 4:30 p.m. will
not be considered.
Samples of successful applications are on reserve in the Library. Complete application guidelines are available from
the Office of Academic Affairs or online at http://www.stetson.edu/academicaffairs/profdevel.php.
SUMMER GRANT RECOMMENDATIONS DUE OCTOBER 25. Department Chairs are reminded to forward Summer
Grant applications and recommendations to their Dean by Wednesday, October 25.

COMMUNITY-BASED RESEARCH INITIATIVE INFORMATION MEETING, Friday, October 20, 3:30 PM, DeLand
Hall Board Room. All faculty with an interest in working collaboratively on community-based research projects (CBR)
with students and community members are invited to attend this information-sharing meeting. Stetson has a small
amount of grant money to train faculty in using CBR and to provide resources to support CBR courses.
