2008-2009 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES.
2009 Summer Grant applications are due October 13. Applicants are to submit eleven (11) copies of their complete
application to the Office of Academic Affairs (Unit 8358 or 1st floor, DeLand Hall), and one (1) extra copy of the "Summer
Grant Application Form" (cover sheet only) to the chair of the Professional Development Committee: Jane Christeson, Unit
8399 or Room 212 Presser Hall. Applications received in the Office of Academic Affairs after October 13 at 4:30 p.m. will
not be considered.

SUMMER IN FREIBURG, GERMANY 2009. The Summer Freiburg Program is again accepting course proposals for a 5
week summer school in Germany, May 24 - June 28, 2009. The purpose of the program is to provide students with an
invaluable educational and cultural experience by offering courses that take advantage of the specific geographical,
historical and cultural context of Germany and Europe. Course offerings may include those that meet requirements for
students' respective major or minor, general education requirements or focus on a specific topic. All courses, except for
language courses are taught in English. A list of courses offered in previous years can be found on the program's website
at www.stetson.edu/artsci/freiburg. Interested faculty should send a short proposal including course designation and a brief
description to Elisabeth Poeter, Dept of Modern Languages and Literatures. eooeterOstetson.edu. Deadline for
submission is Friday, October 3. Please feel free to contact me for any questions you may have concerning the program.
