Advising
UNIVERSITY WORSHIP SERVICE
The Rev. Michele Brigham
Minister to International Students
Miami, Florida
All advisors are reminded to post their appointment sheets as soon as possible so that
their advisees can schedule conferences prior to pre-registration which is scheduled
for April 14-16. If you have not received sing-up sheets and coded computer cards
with instructions from Dean Jenkins please contact him immediately.
I would like to emphasize again the crucial importance of the advising process in
doing the best possible job for our students. I appreciate your good work in this area.

PERSONAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN UNIVERSITY FACILITIES: Each of us is reminded that Stetson
University has no insurable interest in and therefore cannot provide insurance coverage
for any items of personal property such as books, typewriters, et al. In case of any
loss, the University will assume no responsibility. This represents no change of
coverage or policy and is simply a reminder that if insurance coverage is desired, it
should be obtained on an individual basis. /s/ H. G. Edmondson
POLICY ON USE OF UNIVERSITY FACILITIES: No permission may be given to any outside
(non-University) groups for the use of any University facilities without written approval from the Office of the Vice-President for Finance. This is absolutely necessary
for insurance purposes. After approval, the event will be placed on the University
master calendar to enable the Security Guard to proerly perform its functions. The
use of facilities in the Carlton Union, Edmunds Center, and Davis Hall are governed by
established procedures and fees for outside organizations.
Individuals using University facilities will be expected to have University I.D. cards
or guest passes issued by Security. Your continuing cooperation and understanding is
appreciated. /s/ H. G. Edmondson
EMPLOYMENT OF NON-ACADEMIC PERSONNEL: All supervisors and any other University personnel
who might on occasion be involved in the selection of persons for non-academic employment within the University are reminded that no commitment for employment is made until
written approval is obtained from the Director of Personnel. This is necessary to
maintain conformity with the University budget and established terms of employment.
This procedure includes any student or cash labor employees (those students not compensated through the Financial Aid office). Your cooperation with this requirement in the
past is appreciated. Unfortunately, there have been instances of late where there
was not proper respect given to necessary procedure. The requirement must be enforced
and may result in disqualification of the proposed employee for consideration in the
selection process. /s/ H. G. Edmondson
