UNIVERSITY WORSHIP SERVICE

Directed by Dr. Robert Fort
The Earth Day committee would like to extend a word of thanks to the
faculty and staff who participated in the Blackout last week. It was
estimated that over 90% of the university community participated. The
University uses an average of 27,373 kilowatts in a 24-hour period during
the school year. We used only 18,000 kw during the 24-hour period which
included the Blackout—a reduction of over 30% and a savings of $652.
Many of the guideline questionnaires are already coming in to box 1265
with some very good suggestions. If any more forms are needed, please
contact Dorie Rockefeller at ext. 602.
The Senate requested that one of the Deans or all of the Deans administer
the Winter Term. This has now been discussed by the Deans at some length,
and we will implement the following program:
1. The Dean of the University, together with the Deans of each
college/school, will coordinate the Winter Term and will
recommend Winter Term policies for consideration by each
college/school.
2. Each college/school will be responsible for the generation
and approval of course offerings for that school and each
dean will be responsible for making assignments within his school.
3. The Dean of the University will be responsible for publishing
the Winter Term catalog upon receiving the material from the Deans.
4. A Winter Term Committee and director will be appointed as in the
past with responsibility for determining a theme and planning
special activities such as speeches and concerts.
