This edition of the Faculty Bulletin will initiate a new series to accompany the new format for the Bulletin. We trust this heading will
make it easier to identify the Bulletin.
Dr. Pope A. Duncan was elected to a three-year term on the board of
directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) at the annual meeting of the organization in Washington, D.C., January 30-February 1. Dr. Duncan was elected to the post
representing independent colleges and universities nationally and is the
first director elected to serve from a Southern Baptist school.
The National Endowment for the Humanities has set April 1 as the deadline for applications for the 1980 program of Summer Seminars for Col-
leg Teachers. A total of 120 eight-week seminars will be held on
campuses with library collections suitable for advanced research. Undergraduate and two-year college teachers at institutions within the U.S.
and its possessions are eligible to apply. Brochures about the program
will be available in early February from Division of Fellowships, National
Endowment for the Humanities, Mail Stop 101,806 15th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20506.
RELOCATION OF UNIVERSITY PRINT SHOP: The University Print Shop will be
relocated to the building formerly housing Gillespie Museum of Minerals
during the week of February 25-29. Please begin planning your duplicating and printing requirements to allow for the loss of this service
during those days. Thank you very much. /s/ H.G. Edmondson
Many thanks to faculty members for your thorough and prompt responses
to the Self-Study Questionnaire. If you have not yet returned a
Questionnaire and plan to do so, take care of it right away. We will
