All requisitions for purchase orders against 1977-78 budget accounts should be instituted in the
near future. The final date for purchase orders to be issued this year is March 23. The
cooperation of all budget supervisors is appreciated. Is I Mr. H.G. Edmondson
The Artists and Lecturers Committee invites your suggestions for the 1978-79 program.
Please submit your suggestions in writing to the chairman of the committee (Dr. Bryan
Gillespie, Box 1341) or, if your prefer, you may contact any member of the committee:
Ms. Rebecca Berg, State Coordinator of the Florida chapter, National Organization for Women,
will speak on the ERA Monday, March 13, at 8:00 p.m. in Elizabeth Hall. Ms. Berg will
define the ERA, discuss its legal implications, predict its impact upon the nation, and explain
why N. O. W. feels an Equal Rights Amendment is not only justified but essential. It should be
a stimulating and educational speech. Is I Dr. K. Hickok
The excellent film MARTIN LUTHER will be shown in the Stetson Room of the CUB on Monday
evening, March 13, at 7:00 p.m. This film had as a historical consultant the outstanding
Reformation scholar, Roland Bainton. Therefore, it is an excellent film from not only the
religious and aesthetic point of view, but also the historical point of view. It is being sponsored
by the History Department and the entire Stetson community is invited to attend. I si Dr. Wynn
Dr. William Johnson delivered a paper, "The Ruin as Body-City Riddle" at the meeting of the
Southeast Medieval Association in Lexington, Kentucky on March 4. Dr. Johnson's essay
"Beowulf and the Volsungasaga" has appeared in In Geardagum II: Essays on Old and Middle
English Literature (Denver, 1977), pp. 53-64.
The children of Dr. and Mrs. John V. Vaughen cordially invite you to join them for a Reception
in honor of their parents' 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, April 9 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
It will be held at the Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church, 725 North Boulevard, DeLand.
A REMINDER: the Faculty and Administration Reception for Parents in the President's
Garden, Saturday, March 11, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. In case of rain, the reception will be
held in the Student Lounge in the Carlton Union Building.
