The University internal dial system will be completely converted at 9:00 a.m., Saturday,
March 12. After this time please use the new directory for all directory extensions.
New campus telephone directories are available. They can be picked up at the Public
Relations Office.
Thank you for the cooperation given the University and Southern Bell in attending the
training sessions which have been held on our new telephone system. We anticipate a
minimum of problems because of your support. However, if you should have further
questions or any difficulty in utilizing the new features of the service, please do not ask
the operator on duty for assistance. Refer to your instruction card or ask your office
colleagues for help. (Installation of the touchtone instruments continues and those of
us whose telephones have not been changed will use the new extension numbers on the
old set until the individual instruments are exchanged. )
Mr. Dan Gunderson, instructor in the Art Department, won three awards at the Images'77
Art Festival held last weekend in New Smyrna. Budd Bishop, Director of the Columbus
Museum of Art, awarded Mr. Gunderson a $500.00 award of distinction, a $100.00 merit
award, and an honorable mention, for a ceramic vase that he purchased for his own
collection. ^ ^^^
Dr. Gerald E. Critoph spoke to the Penwomen of Daytona Beach at their Fiesta luncheon,
Saturday, March 5. He described the experiences he had in writing "Reluctant Rebel, "
which was performed at Stover Theatre in the summer and again in the fall of 1976.
Dr. Critoph also participated as a member of a three-person committee which selected the
person who, as an amateur, contributed most to the arts in the Daytona Beach area. The
presentation was made at the Daytona Playhouse's Masked Ball at the Holiday Inn Surfside
on the evening of March 5.

The Faculty Discussion Group will meet Friday, March 25 at 12:00 noon in the Private
Dining Room (CUB). Dr. Rob Brady will present a paper, "On The Nature of Personal
Knowledge. "
