Anyone who has a question concerning his contract should discuss it first with his Department
Chairman and subsequently with his Dean.
The Admissions Office is beginning to plan for the Pre-Orientation Day Program, Saturday,
July 22. Interested faculty members are encouraged to contact Mark McMasters with
their ideas.
There will be a meeting in the Faculty Lounge on Friday, April 7 from 10:00-12:00 a.m.
Dr. Fred Holt, Director of the Career Education Project for the Southeastern United States,
will be there to meet with interested faculty and administration. The thrust of the project
has been inservice training of liberal arts faculties in order to infuse the concepts of
Career Education into existing courses. The advantages will be discussed along with
difficulties encountered with the infusion process. For additional information, contact Dr.
Horton, Ext. 457.
Pre-registration for the summer session and fall semester will be April 17, 18, and 19.
Insurance Information Night -- On April 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Davis Hall Auditorium,
representatives from Prudential, Florida Health Care (HMO), the optional cancer program
and the optional life insurance program will present brief comments on the key features of
their respective insurance policies. They will be available for questions and comments both
during the meeting and following it. This evening should be of special value since the entire
month of April will be an open period when faculty may move from Prudential without a
physical examination required. (The date had inadvertently been announced as Tuesday,
April 13, in memoranda sent to faculty and staff in pay envelopes recently. )
A memorial fund in the name of Suzette Fluegel has been created for the purpose of buying
books for DuPont-Ball Library. This fund has been established at the request of Dana and
Janice Fluegel, son and daughter of Mrs. Fluegel. Those wishing to donate to this fund should
send their checks to the Comptroller's Office, Box 1318.
The staff members in the Bookstore and Purchasing Department request that the University
Community be patient during this difficult transitional period. We have lost a wonderful
and valued employee and friend. Her responsibilities are being assigned to others on a
temporary basis until permanent arrangements can be made. Thank you for understanding.
