I would like to express appreciation to Dr. Marc Lovelace for his leadership in serving as
Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee during its initial phase of operation.
Under his capable leadership the committee has made a very fine beginning.
As we move into a new phase in the life of the Long Range Planning Committee, I am
pleased to announce that Ms. Maxine Patterson has been selected to serve as the new
Chairman. It is my hope that she will receive the same degree of cooperation and support given to Dr. Lovelace as this committee continues its very important task.

Cadet Harlen (Roy) Bell, a Senior ROTC Cadet, was awarded a one year ARMY ROTC
Scholarship this past week. Cadet Bell will receive $100. 00 a month and have all tuition ,
books, and lab fees paid by the U.S. Army. The Military Science Department is extremely
proud of Cadet Bell. The scholarship is well deserved. There is every indication that the
May Commencement/Commissioning will be the beginning of an outstanding miliary career
for Roy.

Private Dining Room. Cost: $2. 50. If you would like to attend the luncheon you must make
your reservation by noon Wednesday, January 12. Just call Dr. Ann Morris or Mrs. Cora
