Finals for Winter Term
Dr. H. Douglas Lee, Vice President for Development, will read a paper entitled "Managing
Non-Profit Organizations for Successful Fund-Raising Purposes," at the seminar, Non-Profit
Organizations' Problems - 1980, to be held at the Stetson University College of Law on
February 22-23, 1980. Persons wishing to attend the seminar may contact Dr. Lee.
Dr. Charles Vedder, chairman of the sociology department, Joel Wright, assistant professor
of sociology, and Dr. John Schorr, assistant professor of sociology will be featured on a
program dealing with Stetson's sociology department and how its students become involved
in the community. The show will be aired January 26, at 7 a.m. on WESH-Channel 2.
Jack Fortes, executive director of alumni affairs and annual giving, Linda Parson, assistant
director of alumni affairs, and Lorna Jean Hagstrom, alumni chairman for Stetson's 1980
homecoming will be featured February 2 in a program discussing homecoming and alumni involvement.
Gary Meadows, director of admissions, will serve as moderator for both shows.
Dr. Eliane Norman and her husband Dr. Edward Norman had one of their photographs used as the
cover photo for Bioscience, October 1979 issue. The specimen was Dwarf ephedra (Ephedra
rupestris) surrounded by the "snow lichen" (Stereocaulon sp.) from Mt. Cotopaxi, Ecuador.
The Law breakfast at Homecoming will begin at 8:45 a.m., due to special arrangements with
the speaker, Supreme Court Justice Parker Lee McDonald.
The Artist's and Lecturer's Committee will be presenting Emlyn Williams as "Dylan Thomas
Growing Up" at Stover Theatre on Wednesday, January 30 at 8:00 P.M. There is no charge to
faculty or students with their I.D. cards. Please announce this to your classes and urge
them to attend this important presentation. Seats will be held for Stetson staff and
students until 7:30 p.m.
Of late there has been confusion regarding the scheduling of campus events. On occasion
conflicting events were scheduled because all sponsors had not cleared with the official
University Calendar. ALL scheduled events to which the public is invited must be cleared
with the secretary to the Director of Student Activities, ext. 254, to have them placed

RELOCATION OF UNIVERSITY PRINT SHOP: The University Print Shop will be relocated to the
building formerly housing Gillespie Museum of Minerals during the week of February 25-29.
Please begin planning your duplicating and printing requirements to allow for the loss of
