There will be a General Faculty Meeting on April 25 at 7:00 p.m. in Davis Hall.
There will be a meeting of the faculty of the College of Liberal Arts for the purpose of
discussion and action on the drop dates immediately following the General Faculty Meeting
on April 25.
Dr. John Hague and Dr. Gerald Critoph participated in a panel celebrating the 25th
anniversary of the Southeastern American Studies Association at the organization's meeting
at Auburn University on April 14. While at the conference, which ran from April 14 to 16,
they had dinner with Rollin and Maryann Armour who send greetings to all their friends
at Stetson. Dr. Critoph was elected Secretary-Treasurer of SEASA for 1977-1979.
On April 21 and 22, in Atlanta, a workshop entitled "New Directions in Teaching and
Learning" was sponsored by the Georgia Consortium (14 colleges), the Southern Regional
Education Board, and the National American Studies Faculty. This workshop dealt with
economics, marketing, management, psychology, and sociology. Two of the workshop
leaders are Stetson faculty members, Professor Richard Kindred from the Department of
Psychology, and Professor John Schorr from the Department of Sociology. Dr. John Hague
from the American Studies Department was one of the workshop coordinators.
The following tennis players were absent on April 11 from noon on to play in the Rollins
Tennis Match and from 9:00 a.m. to play at Eckerd College on April 19: Steve Rogers,
Kevin Persson, Scott Price, Chip Winston, Barry Byrd, Mickey Nolen, Chuck Hall, and
Jim McCarty.
The following members of the Stetson Poetry Quartet - Cathy Scroggins, Marcel Williams,
Strib Knight, and Doug Lanier - under the direction of Mrs. Marjorie Gilbert, presented
a recital recently at the DeLand Junior High School.
The following students were absent from classes on Monday, April 18, in order to visit
the State Mental Hospital at Arcadia with Dr. Richard Kindred: Tony Posa, Stephanie
Overholt, Susan Sproul, Joel Manning, Mickey Iamio, Mary Kay King, Janet Todd, Elena
Correa, and Keith Kowalski.
