ALL FACULTY PLEASE NOTE CORRECTION
Commencement exercises will be held in the Edmunds Center on Sunday,
May 20. The baccalaureate service will be held at 8:30 A.M. The faculty
line-of-march will form at 8:00 A.M. at the Edmunds Center. Graduation
exercises will be held at 2:00 P.M. with the faculty line-of-march forming
at 1:30 P.M. in Emily Hall.
The line-of-march for students will form at the same time at Edmunds Center.

President Pope A. Duncan cordially invites the Faculty & Administrative
Staff to attend a presentation ceremony for the recently restored Flagler
Hall. Saturday, May 19, 1979 at 4:00 P.M. A tour of the new facilities
will follow. Coat/Tie - Men, Street Length Dresses or Pantsuits - Women.

An article on "Triboluminescence in Alkaline Earth Oxides" has recently
been published by Dean Turner and a former colleague from Wake Forest.
If you would like to see triboluminescence, remain in the dark until your
eyes are dark adapted and then break a Wintergreen life saver.
The Hatter Bookstore will be closed for inventory from May 21 - June 1.
There will be no rental or office charge sales so please buy your office
supplies for the rest of this fiscal year now.
Dr. Charles Vedder, chairman of the sociology department, will attend a
seminar at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, June 4-6. The seminar will
deal with Alcohol and Drug Addiction. Dr. Vedder will act as a panel
moderator for this session and will also organize a mini-workshop on reactions to various uses of alcohol and drugs.
The following women will be away from the campus May 9-13, 1979 representing
the University at the Small College Tennis Tournament, Region III in
Jacksonville, Alabama.
