At the recent National Forensics Tournament held at Whitewater, Wisconsin,
STETSON'S FORENSICS TEAM won the Founders Sweepstakes Award. This award
recognizes Stetson as having the team with the best overall preformance
at Nationals of any school over the past 5 years. This honor is a tribute
to the students who have competed for Stetson. But, more importantly, it
is a tribute to the Faculty who have been so helpful and supportive throughout the years. I know well that Stetson's forensics program would not be
where it is without your help. On behalf of the students, I want to take
this opportunity to sincerely thank you, the Faculty and Administration,

The University Kindergarten has openings for five year olds for the 197 9-

The Florida Association for Teacher Education last week awarded to Stetson
University a plaque citing the off-campus Florida Teacher Education Program
as being an outstanding example of innovative programming.
Donald Musser of the Religion Department has recently published a review
of Richard Gelwick's The Way of Discovery: An Introduction to the Thought
of Michael Polanyi in Perspectives xn Religious Studies VI (Spring, 1979:)

Group Insurance Increased rates for major medical coverages in our Prudential group plan are going into effect June 1. This is primarily a reflection of illness experience in the past 15 months. A small part reflects
mandatory changes in maternity coverage from Federal legislation. While
there is no change in rates by Florida Health Care Plan, Inc., the University
is required to make the same contribution toward its cost that is made to
the Prudential group, hence, deduction changes for both plans. Costs for
the insurance programs will be divided between the University and the individual participants on the same formula as in the past.
Effective June 1 the schedule of employee premium deductions will be:
