With apologies to the GENERAL FACULTY for any inconvenience caused by the recent use
of the FACULTY LOUNGE for the serving of a dinner in that room, without authorization,
it is hereby publicized that appropriate persons have been notified of the long-standing-
position of the Faculty Senate that NO MEALS ARE TO BE SERVED IN THE FACULTY
LOUNGE; there are other rooms available for that purpose. Until recently no food at all
was allowed in the Lounge, but it is recognized that there is a need from time to time to
hold a small reception in the Lounge, with light refreshments to be served. In any case,
all requests for the use of the Faculty Lounge are to be directed to the Chairman of the
Faculty Senate, whomever that may be, thus avoiding possible conflicts.

Grades for students graduating are due in the Registrar's Office at 8:00 a.m., Thursday,
May 12. Special arrangements must be made for graduating seniors and masters'
candidates scheduled for examinations after Wednesday, May 11.
All other grades are due in the Registrar's Office at 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 17.
Over 300 educators and parents from seven counties attended the Workshop on Learning
Problems held on our campus last week. The Workshop, which was conducted by Dr.
Jules Abrams of Philadelphia, was a component in the Exceptional Student Education
Federal Grant which was awarded to Stetson for the current school year. The proposal
for the $30, 000 grant was written by Dr. Ruth Arnold and Dr. James Coffee.
Dr. Ruth Arnold and Mrs. Catherine Homan will be conducting six all-day workshops on
learning disabilities for teachers in four counties during April and May. Dr. Arnold is
active each year in conducting workshops for educators in counties throughout the state.
Dr. Eliane Norman, Department of Biology, is co-author with Dr. Lyman Smith of the
Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D. C. , of an article on the Buddleia (Butterfly Bush)
plant from Santa Catalina, Brazil, published in Flora Ulustrada Catarinense.

Dr. William Johnson will read his paper, "The Rhetoric of Lament: From Beowulf to
Chaucer, " on May 6 at the Medieval Institute in Kalamazoo, Michigan. _^
Want someone to watch your house and yard while you are away this summer: Three
responsible women graduates of 1977 are looking for a house to live in this summer. We

Summer Office Hours: A reminder that effective Monday, May 16, University administrative office hours will revert to our normal summer shcedule.
Swimming Pool: The University swimming pool will be closed after Sunday, May 15, for
a period of repair and refurbishing. It will be reopened for limited hours to be announced
later for University community use in the afternoon, on or about June 1.
Tennis Courts: With the advent of Daylight Savings Time and the end of the spring semester,
West University Avenue tennis courts will not be lighted during the summer.
