Summer Telephone Disconnects:
Please look toward your adjusted level of operation during the summer from
May 21 through August 31. It has been our practice to temporarily disconnect
a number of telephone extensions which are not needed during this period, at
a saving of thousands of dollars. Please report any extensions which you will
not need in your area to the Office of Vice President for Finance.

Selected in the recent election as representatives-at-large on the Faculty
Senate for 1979-80 are Jesse Berry, Bryan Gillespie, George Hood, Marc
Lovelace, and Maxine Patterson. They will join: 1) from the School of
Business Administration — William Anderson and Kenneth Jackson; 2) from the
School of Music — Robert Rich and Virginia Hutchings; 3) from the College
of Liberal Arts, the Division of Education — Ruth Arnold and Lena Hobbs,
the Division of Humanities — James Beasley and Robert Smith, the Division
of Natural Sciences — Kenneth Everett and Gareth Williams, and the Division
of Social Sciences — Joel Wright and John Hague. All members of this year's
Senate and next year's Senate should plan to meet together on May 1, 1979
at 6:45 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge, Carlton Union Building.
On Monday and Wednesday, the 16th and 18th from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. the
Ballroom Dance Club will hold its first dance in the Stetson Room. There
will be lessons beginning at 7:30 p.m. and open dancing at 8:00 p.m.
All faculty members are cordially invited to attend.
Dr. Rob Brady and some philosophy students attended the Florida Undergraduate
Philosophy Conference at the University of Tampa this past weekend. One of
the students, Mrs. Christine Stoner, presented a paper titled "The Causal
Connection" to the conference.
