REMINDER -- Eliot D. Allen Memorial Fund: Faculty and staff wishing to make contribution to the Library in memory of former Dean of Humanities, Eliot D. Allen, should
make checks payable to Stetson University and send them to Dr. Bryan Gillespie, Box 1341.
The Artists and Lecturers Committee is offering two programs in January. (1) The Tam-
buritzans of Duquesne University will perform on January 9 at 8:00 p. m. in the Edmunds
Activity Center. (2) Professor C. Curtis Shears, Director of the International Nutritional
Research Institute of Great Britain will speak on January 12 at 8:00 p.m. in the Stetson
Room, CUB, on "The Influence of Nutrition on Personality. " I. D. cards will admit all
of the Stetson community. Public admission is $2. 00 per person.
The Reverend Ms. Carter Heyward will speak at 11:00 a. m. in Davis Hall on Wednesday,
January 14. This event will replace the regular University Worship Service.
Applications for summer jobs with the Federal Government are available in the Placement
Office. It is projected that there will be 100, 000 applications for 10, 000,openings. Positions
are nation-wide and qualifications vary according to agency selected. Jobs will range from
office aides through laboratory assistants. Salary is from $101. 80 per week to $146. 07 per
week, depending upon qualifications. Applicants should apply before January 15.
The Placement Office announces the opening of a new Career Information area. Current
literature pertaining to business, industry, and government is available to faculty and
students. Come in and browse! Room 210, CUB.
The following students were off campus Thursday and Friday, January 7-8, to attend a
debate or forensics tournament at Vanderbilt University.
The following students were absent on January 8 and 9 attending an audition in Atlanta with
Mr. Bruce Griffiths: Ann Rothermel, Cindy Bell, Barbara Gay, Marrie Long, Hugh Murphy.
