A meeting of faculty members in the Division of Social Sciences will be held on Tuesday, April
20, at 3:45 p.m., in Room 200, Flagler Hall. Please try to attend this meeting as important
business will be transacted.
The local officers of Delta Tau Kappa, international social science honorary society, wish to
announce to the faculty that ten undergraduates will be inducted into the organization at forthcoming ceremonies. Stetson's Gamma Chapter of Delta Tau Kappa is sponsored by the Department of
Sociology; faculty advisor is Professor Joel S. Wright. Membership requirements are 20 hours
completed in the social sciences (12 of these in sociology), a 2.0 (B) overall grade point average, and a 2.0 (B) grade point average in sociology courses. Undergraduate sociology majors to
be accepted into membership are Mrs. Rebecca Anthony, Mrs. Linda Armour, Mr. Brady Davis, Ms.
Debbie Driver, Ms. Suzanne Harwell, Mrs. Janice Hess, Mr. David Hughes, Mr. Michael Mott, Mr.
Craig Sherouse and Mr. Louis Tuck. Current officers are Ms. Marie Bologna, President; Mr. Randy
Griffiths, Vice-President; and Mrs. Sarah (Micky) Lanier, Secretary-Treasurer.
The Student Health Service facilities are available only to Stetson students. Faculty, visitors, friends of students and employees of Stetson must seek medical or surgical treatment from
their own physicians or the emergency room at West Volusia Hospital located on West Plymouth
Avenue. (Phone: 734-3320)
In case of accident or emergency to campus visitors assistance should be rendered upon
request by calling the victim's physican or arranging transportation to the emergency room at
West Volusia Memorial Hospital
Because of limited staffing and the absence of equipment which would likely be needed for
true emergency cases, EMERGENCY TREATMENT cannot be provided at the University Infirmary. ALL
UNIVERSITY PERSONNEL SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH THIS POLICY.
The annual Awards Assembly will be held Friday, April 30, at 10:00 a.m. in Elizabeth Hall Auditorium. If you have an award to present in the assembly or if you sponsor a student organization that has awards to present, please see or contact Mary-Edna Walls in the Office of Student
Affairs (Ext. 241 or 324). All information must be turned in to Mrs. Walls by April 23.
The brochure for Combination Majors offered through the English Department has recently been
updated. Faculty Advisors should be certain that their copies of the brochure reflect the
changes.
The following students will be attending a National Forensics Tournament April 21 - April 26
at Los Angeles, California. They will be absent from classes on these days.
Bobbi Rowe, Carol Crooke, David Gilbert, Elizabeth Knoblock, Kim Swoyer, Ireen Ziegler and
Amy Horton.
The womens's intercollegiate tennis team is participating in the Florida State Intercollegiate
Tennis Tournament at Miami University, April 13 - 17. The members of the team are: Mandy Parson,
Kathy Coffey, Debbie Fowler, Jill Jinks, Sally Seliner and Debbie Horton.
