We hope that all Faculty and Administrative officers received our letter and schedule of events
concerning Parents' Week-end. This is another cordial invitation for you and your families to
join in all the activities of the week-end. We have a large number of reservations and look
forward to having many of the parents with us.
AFRICAN AFFAIRS LECTURE: Dr. Gwendolyn Carter, the nationally noted authority in African
studies, will give a lecture in Davis Hall Auditorium on Monday night, April 12th at 7:30.
Her address entitled, "Crisis in Southern Africa — Rhodesia and the Union of South Africa"
will deal with the very explosive situation in that area. Monday night classes will be welcome as well as other interested faculty and students. There is no admission charge.
The AAUP will have a luncheon-meeting at 12:00 Friday, April 9th, in the CUB Private Dining
Room. All faculty members are invited. Cost of buffet lunch is only $1.25 — a real bargain!
Make your reservation by calling the English Department office (ext. 246) by Thursday noon.
If you can't come for lunch, why not come about 12:45 for the meeting? The agenda includes
election of new officers, appointment of a Committee W, and, as always, discussion of faculty
concerns.

The Faculty Coffee Fund is in the red again. We bailed ourselves out last year by great sacrifice on the part of someone (or many). Can we do it again? A few quarters ought to do it.

Bobbie Rowe will be attending the Bicentennial Youth Debates in Atlanta, Georgia this week-end.
She will be absent from classes on Friday, April 2nd.
The following students will be attending the novice National Debate Tournament this week-end
at Bellarmine College in Louisville, Kentucky.
They will be absent from classes on Thursday and Friday, April 1st and 2nd: Kim Swoyer
