The following persons were elected March 15, 1976 to represent the Division of Natural
Sciences and Mathematics in the following positions: Dr. James Knapp, Representative to
the Faculty Senate ( 3 year term); Dr. Raymond Cannon, Secretary to the Division (1 year
term); Dr. Kenneth Everett, Curriculum Committee (2 year term).
The following persons will continue to represent the Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics for one year: Dr. Warren Thwing, Curriculum Committee; Dr. Thomas Lick, Repre-
sentative to the Faculty Senate; Dr. Anthony Jusick, Representative to the Honors Council.

Professor John Schorr of the Sociology Department was a recent guest speaker and panelist at
the Second Annual Community Involvement Conference of the Seminole Community College
Afro-American Society. Mr. Schorr's talk was titled "Inequality and the Black Family
Professor Fred Messersrnith, Chairman of the Department of Art, has received three outstanding honors in recent Florida Art exhibitions. His watercolor "Italian Hill Town" was awarded
$500 first place at the opening reception of the Festival of the States Juried Art Competition at
the St. Petersburg Art Center. Also in St. Petersburg at the Museum of Fine Arts, his painting
"Venice Revisited" has been on Hisplay during March as one of 27 invited F lorida painters. At
the 17th Annual Winter Park Festival of Art, Professor Messersmith's watercolor "Flaming
Trees" received an honorable mention. This was Mr. Messersmith's 15th year as an exhibitor
in this most prestigious show in the South.
Mortar Board of Stetson University will sponsor a "Last Lecture" by Mrs. Kathleen Johnson of
the English Department on March 30 at 8:00 p. m. in Room 5 of the Library. This is part of the
Last Lecture Series which Mortar Board sponsors annually. j
Mrs. Hazel Reed wishes to thank her many friends, both faculty and staff, for their many kind-
nesses during her recent illness. :
