ANNOUNCEMENTS
On behalf of the faculty, the Faculty Senate invites the University community
to a reception honoring the people who worked so hard during the hurricane season.
Their efforts made preparation and recovery so much easier for the rest of us,
and we are grateful.
The drop-in reception will be Tuesday, October 19, 2004, from 3pm to 5pm
in the Stetson Room of the Carlton Union Building. Refreshments will be served.
The University Faculty will meet today, Friday, October 15, 2004, at 12:00 noon in the Stetson Room. Agenda items
include an enrollment report from Deborah Thompson, and reports from Dr. Lee concerning hurricane recovery efforts
and the recent Trustees meeting. A light lunch will be served beginning at 11:45 a.m.

The Faculty Senate will meet November 1, 2004, in the Faculty Lounge in the Carlton Union Building. Senators
and invited guests meet for dinner at 6:00 p.m. The meeting begins at 6:45 p.m. and all faculty members are
encouraged to attend. Minutes of the October 4 meeting are attached elsewhere to this edition of The Newsletter.

One final change for Fall 2004 Commencement. Commencement for graduate degree candidates will be held in the
Elizabeth Hall Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2004. Commencement for undergraduate degree
candidates will also be held in the Elizabeth Hall Auditorium at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2004.
