ANNOUNCEMENTS
THE FACULTY SENATE WILL MEET DECEMBER 5, 2005, in the Faculty Lounge in the Carlton Union Building.
Senators and invited guests meet for dinner at 6:00 p.m. The meeting begins at 6:45 p.m. and all faculty
members are encouraged to attend. The topic for discussion is the Academic Quality Initiative.

2005 FALL COMMENCEMENT for candidates of graduate degrees is scheduled for Friday, December 16 at 7:00
p.m. in Elizabeth Hall Chapel. The line of march forms at 6:30 p.m. in the first floor hallway. Commencement for
candidates of baccalaureate degrees is scheduled for Saturday, December 17 at 9:00 a.m. in the Edmunds
Center, and the line of march forms at 8:30 a.m. in the Lower West Corridor. Full regalia is required for

APPLICATIONS FOR HAND GRANTS. Faculty are encouraged to apply for 2006 Hand Grants. Applications for
Professional Development Projects and Hand Grants for Course Enhancement are due to Department Chairs on
January 23, 2006. The application is attached elsewhere to this edition of The Newsletter and can also be found
in the "Faculty Professional Development Opportunities" handbook, which is available in hard copy from the
Office of Academic Affairs as well as electronically on the Academic Affairs web page
(http://www.stetson.edu/academicaffairs/profdevel.php). Traditionally, a total of six grants of $2,000 each are
awarded.
