Stetson Room. The topic for discussion is budget issues. A light lunch will be served, beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Academic Promotion and Tenure Workshop
John Schorr, Chair of the University Academic Promotion and Tenure Committee, announces a workshop to be
held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, in the Lynn Center Board Room (room 213). An invitation to attend is
extended to all members of the University Promotion and Tenure Committee; members of the Promotion and
Tenure Committees from the respective college/schools; all department chairs; and all potential candidates for
promotion and tenure. Attendees may want to bring copies of the current Promotion and Tenure policies and
procedures, which are available at https://beret.stetson.edu/pol_proc/TableofContents.html (Section 3). The

A Forum for Sabbatical Leave and Summer Grant Applications will be held Thursday, September the 26th, 4-5:00
p.m., in the John E. Johns Lecture Hall, room 315, Elizabeth Hall. The Sabbatical Leave and Summer Grant
Applications, including their supporting material, will be available, as part of the Faculty Professional Development
Opportunities handbook, next Thursday, the 26th, both in hard copy in the Office of Academic Affairs and through
Intranet, at: http://www.stetson.edu/offices/academicaffairs/profdevop2002-03.pdf (this is an Adobe Acrobat file,
so you may have trouble with access if this program is not loaded on your computer). Note that there have been
no substantive changes introduced from last year. Nevertheless we encourage applicants to read this year's
materials. Note also that deadlines for submission are final and binding. Late applications will not be accepted. The
submission deadlines are October the 21st for Summer Grants and October the 28th for Sabbatical Leaves.
