NEH Summer Stipends
Stetson can nominate two faculty members for the 2001 NEH Summer Stipends competition, which provides
$5000 for two consecutive months of full-time study and research. Those interested in applying should first
become familiar with the criteria provided on the NEH website at
(http://www.neh.fed.us/qrants/onebook/fellowships.html)
and then submit a brief summary of the proposed project to Associate Dean Karen Kaivola by Friday, September
7. In the event that more than two faculty members express interest, proposals will be evaluated by the Deans.
The NEH prefers that a junior faculty member receive one of these two nominations.
Applications must be received by the NEH by October 1.

Meetings are in the Faculty Lounge in the Carlton Union Building. Senators and invited guests meet for dinner at
6:00 p.m. The meeting begins at 6:45 p.m.
The primary item of business for the September 10 meeting is setting the Senate agenda for the school year.
