ANNOUNCEMENTS
UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEETING - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2001, from 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. in the Stetson
Room. The topic for discussion will be academic quality, using the senate report on academic quality as a basis.
The expectation is that the faculty will have read the report prior to the meeting. The format of the meeting will
be small group discussions, with time at the end for each group to report highlights of its discussion to the entire
group. Suggestions from each group will be taken to the senate and to the academic quality steering committee.
In order for the small group discussions to be effective, we ask that faculty be prompt in their arrival, and that we
get good representation from the schools and college. Lunch will be served, beginning at 11:45 a.m. The senate's

CHANGE IN DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF FALL GRADES. All teaching faculty are now responsible for
entering grades into Banner rather than submitting grades to the Registrar's Office. Training and instructions on
posting grades to Banner will be provided this fall. The deadline for posting final grades for those students
receiving degrees at December commencement remains 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 14. The deadline for posting
all other grades is now Thursday, December 27, by 9:00 a.m. Students will receive a notation of "NR" for any

Minutes of the September 11 meeting of the Faculty Senate appear elsewhere in this issue of The Newsletter.
Included in the minutes is a brief summary of results from the Faculty Senate survey. A more complete report on

Farewell Reception for Bob Lynn. Please stop by Griffith Hall, today, Friday, September 14 at 3:00 for a reception
to bid farewell to Bob Lynn. Bob has been Stetson's Director of Student Financial Planning since November
1999. He has accepted a position with Seminole Community College as Director of Financial Aid.
