ANNOUNCEMENTS
The University Faculty will meet today, October 17 at 12:00 noon in the Stetson Room. A light lunch will be
served beginning at 11:45 a.m. The topics for discussion include concerns and issues relevant to Diversity in our
community. Please refer to Stetson University's Commitment to Diversity, Summary of Tangible Achievement,
Draft #4, attached elsewhere to this edition of The Newsletter.
Town Meeting to be held on Wednesday, October 22, from 10:00 to noon to discuss issues of diversity and
inclusiveness in our community. Please see the information attached elsewhere to this edition of The Newsletter.

Sabbatical Leave and Summer Grant Applications and their supporting material are now available, as part of the
Faculty Professional Development Opportunities handbook, both in hard copy in the Office of Academic Affairs
(first floor DeLand Hall, or contact Judy at ext. 7010 or [email protected] ) and on the internet at:
http://www.stetson.edu/offices/academicaffairs/0304profdev.rtf. The documents may also be accessed by
selecting Academic Affairs from Stetson's web index after which you scroll down to and click "Professional
Development Opportunities 2003-2004". Judy Ward is quite willing, upon request, to send the documents to
you as a hard copy or as an e-mail attachment.
Submission deadlines are October the 20th for Summer Grants and October the 27th for Sabbatical Leaves. Late
applications will not be accepted.
