ANNOUNCEMENTS
Change of Date for University Faculty Meeting. The date of the Faculty Meeting scheduled for Friday, October 18,
2002, has been changed to Friday, October 25, from noon - 1:15 p.m. in the Stetson Room. A light lunch will be
served beginning at 11:45 a.m. The topics for discussion include an update on budget stabilization; the Council of
Deans proposal regarding quality points (available online at the Senate site
https://beret.stetson.edu/facultv_senate/); and the proposal regarding the addition of Library to the Tenure and
Promotion Committee. The faculty will vote on a Faculty Senate by-laws change, adding a new Senate Committee:
the Finance & Investments Committee. A copy of that proposal will be distributed prior to the meeting.

Distribution changes for The Newsletter. In a continuing effort to reduce costs and unnecessary waste, fewer
copies of The Newsletter will be distributed, effective with the November 1 edition. Sufficient copies will be
delivered through Campus Mail so that each faculty member may receive one, and an additional copy will be
available for office staff to share. Also effective November 1, 2002, each edition of The Newsletter will be posted
to www.stetson.edu/offices/academicaffairs/newsletter.htm where it will remain until replaced by the next issue.
Electronic postings will not include attachments presented to this office via hard copy. Publication dates of The
Newsletter are posted on Stetson's WebEvent calendar and the URL for the electronic posting is also provided
(choose "Calendar" on the drop down box on Stetson's home page, then select the Academic Affairs calendar and
click on "Newsletter Publication" for the URL). Faculty at the Law School will receive The Newsletter as an e-mail
