The University Faculty will meet Friday, November 22, at 12:00 noon in the Stetson Room. A light lunch will be
served beginning at 11:45 a.m. The agenda includes a vote on a proposed amendment to the Faculty Senate
Bylaws to create a Finance and Investments Committee; a vote on the Council of Deans' proposal to redefine
suspension and dismissal by grade point average rather than quality points; and ratification of the three-year
probationary period for a campus-wide Honor System implementation based on the revisions requested by the
faculty at the May 2, 2002 meeting. The proposed amendment and the Council of Deans' proposal are attached

Nominations being sought for December commencement speaker. The Department of Student Life is seeking
nominations for a graduating senior to serve as commencement speaker for the December graduation ceremony. If
there is a student you would like to nominate for this honor, please submit their name to Unit 8334 or call
extension 7237 or email to [email protected] no later than November 19, 2002. We will send an application
to each nominee. Approved applicants will be voted upon by a University committee consisting of three faculty
