The Professional Development Workshop for Summer Grants and Sabbaticals will be Monday, October 2, at
4:30 in the Media Presentation Room (room 25) in the Instructional Media Center. From: Betty D. Johnson
The Faculty Senate will meet on Monday, October 2 at 6:45 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge. All faculty are
invited to attend. Senators and invited guests are reminded that dinner will be served at 6 p.m.

ACE Fellows Program
The American Council on Education is accepting applications for the 2001-2002 ACE Fellows Program.
Alumni of this leadership development program have a proven track record of moving into such positions as
college and university presidents; provosts, vice presidents and vice chancellors; and deans. The program
provides an internship at another campus where either a president or a vice president will serve as a
mentor. Stetson is able to submit one application for either a senior faculty member or an administrator. The
applicant must be endorsed by President Lee and receive confirmation that Stetson will pay salary and
benefits during the term of the internship. Please contact Judy Ward (ext 7010 or [email protected]) by
October 11 if you are interested in receiving further information. The application is due to ACE Fellows

AMERICAN STUDIES BOOK SALE CONTINUES
The American studies library is getting smaller and the book sale is getting bigger-we've already raised over
$75 for student research. The newest additions to the sale include lots of literature, many American
classics (according to many canons); plus, there are still a lot of books in many other areas. Most of the
books are from Ann Jerome Croce's library. Come to 218 Sampson, browse, buy, get that warm fuzzy
feeling from helping student research, and enjoy some good books! Questions? Call Shirley Ferguson at
