FACULTY AND STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS
The following information has been received from the college/schools/departments:
FACULTY: A copy of the 1999-2000 Faculty Senate Annual Report is on reserve in the DuPont-Ball
Library- Members of the 2000-2001 Faculty Senate also have a copy of it. From: Diane Everett
FACULTY, STAFF, AND ADMINISTRATORS: In September, the Stetson Institute for Social Research (SISR)
will be conducting a poll on local political issues for the Daytona Beach News Journal. The telephone
interviews will occur on weekday evenings and on weekends. We are looking for mature, reliable students
with good telephone and interpersonal skills to work on this project. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! We
will train interviewers. This is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable research experience and earn
some cash. The pay is $6.50 per hour, and students will get paid for attending the required training
session. If you know students who might be interested in working on this project, please encourage them

person by stopping by 219 Davis Hall. She can provide them with an employment application and with

BOOK SALE FOR STUDENT RESEARCH
The American Studies Department is having a big book sale. Come on by the office and the hallway just
outside 218 Sampson Hall, and browse through dozens of books on a whole range of culture-watching
subjects, especially literature, art, cultural history, and politics .... 25 cents for paperbacks and 50 cents for
hardcovers.
All the money goes to the Student Research Fund, which was started by Ann Jerome Croce in 1993 to
honor former faculty members John Hague and Jerry Critoph, and it has been funded mostly by American
Studies alumni. The fund has supported a range of projects including a research trip to the Andrew Jackson
Archives and a classroom visit from historian of religion Colleen McDannell.
Find some good books-and help Stetson students at the same time!
