ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Faculty Senate will hold its regular monthly meeting this Monday, October 1, in the Faculty Lounge of the
Carlton Union Building. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m., with the meeting proper beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The meeting will begin with short reports from Senate standing committees and from Senate representatives on
university committees. Primary agenda item is a discussion on how the Senate and the faculty can move the
university academic quality agenda forward. Discussion will focus on three particular issues: program review,

Academic Promotion and Tenure Workshop
John Schorr, Chair of the University Academic Promotion and Tenure Committee, announces a workshop to be
held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, in CUB Rooms 204/205. An invitation to attend is extended to all
members of the University Promotion and Tenure Committee; members of the Promotion and Tenure Committees
from the respective college/schools; all department chairs; and all potential candidates for promotion and tenure.
Attendees may want to bring copies of the current Promotion and Tenure policies and procedures, which are
available from the Office of Academic Affairs (ext. 7010 or [email protected]). The Council of Deans will

Banner Web Training Dates Set for Faculty.
All full-time and part-time faculty who have not received Banner Web training will need to participate in one of the
following training sessions. Faculty who have already received training but who still have questions are invited to
attend. It is essential that all faculty receive training, as department secretaries are not authorized to enter grades.
