JACK FORTES, a member of the Alumni/Development Office staff for 24 years before his retirement in 1989, had
written a fiction novel, "The Band Leader", about the big band era. In the book, Fortes acknowledges assistance
provided by Dr. Michael Raymond and Dr. Michael King. Watch for an announcement about a book signing at the
