FACULTY SENATE MEETING: The Faculty Senate will hold its first meeting on Monday, September 8, in the
Faculty Lounge. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 6:45 p.m. Senators are invited
to dine free of charge and all other faculty are welcome to join at a nominal cost (tba). Please confirm your
reservation with Brian Doherty, Senate Secretary at ext. 8958.

NEW LOOK IN THE FACULTY LOUNGE! In response to several requests, the Faculty Lounge has been rearranged
so that it can be used by faculty as a dining area. This will permit faculty to bring their lunch from the Commons
and enjoy a pleasant atmosphere while they "take a break." From: Wayne Bailey, Chair, Faculty Senate
DUNCAN GALLERY OF ART OPENS 1997-98 SEASON. "The Lost Highway," mixed media constructions by David
Rose. Scale model replicas of once thriving (but now abandoned) drive-in theaters, gas stations, diners,
restaurants, and motels. Baby-boomers-and-before crowd will find the works nostalgic, younger views will find
them interestingly historic. Plan on stepping back in time, and enjoying the step! Opening reception Friday,
September 5, 6-8 p.m. in Duncan Gallery of Art. Exhibition continues through October 17th. Mr. Rose will lecture
on Thursday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. in duPont-Ball Library, room 5L.
Award-winning Florida artist Sandy Lacour displays her ceramics in the Sampson Hall Foyer Gallery beginning
September 5 at a reception 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Her works will be on exhibit through September 30.
Gisela Salveson's ceramics will follow in the Foyer Gallery October 1-17.
