REMINDER-UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEETING, today Friday. October 16, noon. Stetson Room. A light lunch will

REMINDER-STOVER THEATRE will present the Pulitzer Prize play Picnic by William Inge to open the 93rd season
of theatrical productions at Stetson. Performances will be October 16, 17, 19 at 8:00 p.m. and October 18 at
3:00 p.m. Faculty, students, and staff may get a ticket by presenting a valid Stetson I.D. Reservations may be
made by calling Stover Theatre's box office, ext. 8700, between 3:00 and 5:30 p.m. beginning Monday, October
12. The production counts as a cultural event for the College of Arts and Sciences. From: James Wright
REMINDER-The Center for the Study of Ethics and Family Enterprise will hold an open meeting to present and
discuss its plans for this year and beyond. Everyone interested in learning about the new vision and opportunities

SLIDE LECTURE/GALLERY TALK BY SAMANTHA SIMPSON. Digital Arts/Art Instructor Samantha Simpson, who
has nine pieces on display currently in the Duncan Gallery of Art (through October 30), will give a slide lecture in
the gallery from 12:00 -12:45 p.m. on Friday, October 23. Lecture is free and open to the public. Students who
sign in at the event will receive Arts and Sciences cultural credit. Next gallery lecture: Tara Thacker (ceramics),
October 30.
"Contemporary African American Artists," a lecture by Dr. Samella Lewis. It is our distinct privilege to have Dr.
Lewis on campus. She is a well-known artist, art historian-educator, art activist, filmmaker and Getty Center
scholar. She is founder/editor of The International Review of African American Art, founder/director of the Museum
of American Art in Los Angeles, and a pioneer publisher of books about African American Art, to name but a few
highlights from her distinguished career. Dr. Lewis will speak in the Duncan Gallery of Art on Monday, October
19, 7:30 p.m. This is an Arts and Sciences cultural credit event for students. Free and open to the public.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPY CONFERENCE. The Continuing Education Department is sponsoring a Marriage
and Family Therapy conference in Orlando. On Friday, October 23, Dr. Augustus Y. Napier will discuss "The
Marriage Experience: Experiential Approaches to marital Dilemmas and Possibilities." Faculty can register for this
