ANNOUNCEMENTS
UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEETING-Friday, December 5, Rinker Auditorium. Davis Hall. The agenda items include
brief reports from President Lee, Deans' Council, and Faculty Senate. A sandwich-bar type lunch will be served
beginning at 11:45 a.m.
NCAA Athletic Certification Executive Summary. On November 4 the Office of Academic Affairs mailed each
faculty a hard copy of this report prefaced with a joint memorandum from President Lee and Dr. Liz Schumaker.
Because some faculty have indicated they did not receive it, attached elsewhere to The Newsletter is this report.
Values Commitments Task Force. As of this writing I have been unable to post this report on the academic affairs
web site due to technical problems. However, hard copies of this report will be made available at the University

STUDENT PERFORMANCE SHOWCASE at Stover Theatre, Friday, December 5, 7:00 p.m. Students of TE.206
Directing and CN 206 Performance Study of Literature will present a showcase of performances taken from their
respective courses. The program will last approximately 90 minutes. Admission is free. For more information,

Live in Elizabeth Hall, Friday, December 5, 7:30 pm; Saturday. December 6, 8:30 pm; and Sunday, December 7,
4:00 pm—The Stetson Concert Choir, with Director of Choral Activities Duncan Couch, will present three
performances of its annual Christmas Candlelight Concert this weekend. This traditional concert, which is one of
the most popular of the year, begins with a candlelight procession featuring traditional carols and continues with
choral works spanning the 16th to 20th centuries. The ceremony will include works for choir and brass quartet;
for choir and guitar; and for choir, percussion, and flute; as well as a variety of Christmas favorites featuring
soloists from the choir. Stetson and DeLand folks begin to arrive—with a good book, crossword puzzle, or
companion—over an hour before the performances. Our suggestion is to attend the Saturday performance, which
will begin at 8:30 to avoid the Christmas parade crowd. Because of the later hour of this concert, it is expected
