University Faculty Meeting-Friday, September 12, Noon, Rinker Auditorium, Davis Hall. The agenda will be a
discussion of the agendas for the year being considered by the President's Staff, the Faculty Senate, and the
Deans' Council. These groups are particularly interested in conversation concerning items which faculty feel should
be dealt with during this pivotal year. The Office of Academic Affairs will, as last year, provide sandwiches and
will be available beginning at 11:45 a.m. From: Jim Woodward, Chair, Deans' Council
Live in Elizabeth Hall, Friday, September 5, 7:30 p.m.-Pianist Anne McLean will play works by Scriabin,
Rachmaninoff, Jacques H6tu, Ligeti, Ravel, and Albeniz. In this all-20th-century recital, some of the music that
was composed early in the century is very modern in sound while the later music sounds almost Romantic.
Live in Downtown DeLand, Wednesday, September 10, 12:20 p.m.-The 12:20 MainStreet Concert Series: Faculty
and student harpists, Melody Long Anglin and Aubrie Lemon, will inaugurate this exciting new series. The School
of Music is working with MainStreet DeLand to find various locations in down town DeLand for noon concerts that
will last only 25 minutes. Next Wednesday, DeLand and Stetson folks should pick up a sandwich and go the Inside
Mall by Cook's Cafe and Sandwich Stop, where you can sit, eat, and enjoy a program of harp duos. Later concerts
will occur on the second Wednesday of every month during the school year-same time but shifting locales in the
MainStreet area. Dr. Bob Fort, Professor of Music Emeritus, should be given credit for this collaboration between
Stetson and the DeLand community. He and the Concert Choir presented monthly luncheon concerts in the two
downtown rotundas last Spring. From: Jan Kindred
