Cultural Diversity Week
Beau Jest-Stover Theatre
Live in Elizabeth Hall, Friday, September 13, 7:30 p.m.--Michael Rickman will perform Brahms and Chopin on the
newly restored Elizabeth Steinway D piano. The Steinway has spent the summer in the DelaRok Piano Gallery in
Winter Park and will return to Elizabeth Hall Stage just a few days before the concert. Michael has made frequent
trips to Winter Park during the restoration and reports that the Steinway will sound better than it ever has. The
new richness of the Steinway's sound will be highlighted by the Romantic literature he has chosen-Brahms'
Variations and Fuaue on a theme bv Handel and Chopin's Sonata in B-flat Minor and Ballade in F Minor. See next

Stover Theatre will present Beau Jest September 20, 21, 23 at 8:00 p.m. and September 22 at 3:00 p.m. The
box office number is ext. 8700 and is open from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. each day. Faculty and staff are reminded they

JEWISH HIGH HOLY DAYS. The Jewish High Holy Days are coming up over the next two weeks. Saturday,
September 14, is Rosh Hashana (the Jewish New Year) and Monday, September 23, is Yom Kippur (the Day of
Atonement). I would appreciate your cooperation in being sensitive to the needs of those in our community who

Anyone wishing to contribute to the Karen Kelly Memorial Fund may send a donation to Faye Hanks in the
Development Office, Campus Box 8286. Checks should be made payable to Stetson University. A young fifteen
foot oak tree will be dedicated on campus later this fall memorializing the tall, vibrant third-year student from
Pierson who was killed in a car wreck on August 24 not far from her home. Additional funds may be used for a
needy Pierson student, library books, or teaching aids in the areas of psychology or counseling.

The staff of Berlitz on Campus (the LIFE Center) is deeply sorry to announce that Dr. John Goldberg, academic
coordinator for the LIFE program, died Sunday as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident two weeks ago in
Daytona Beach. Whether teaching classes or advising the international students, John excelled as a member of
the LIFE team. He will be missed. The Stetson University community extends deepest sympathy to his wife,
Etsuko, and to all of the Goldberg family. Services for John were held this week in his home town, Forest Park,
