ANNOUNCEMENTS
COMMENCEMENT-Saturday, December 20, 9:00 a.m. Edmunds Center. The faculty line of march will form at
8:30 a.m., in the west downstairs corridor of the Edmunds Center. All faculty are encouraged to march. A
reception following the ceremony will be held in the Stetson Room. The line-of-march is attached elsewhere to

FINAL GRADES. Final grades for all students are due in the Registrar's Office by 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, December
23. Please do not forget to sign rolls and hand deliver them if at all possible to the Registrar's Office. Then we
are able to resolve any problems that may exist.
Faculty are reminded that the optically scanned grade rolls must pass through a machine to be read, and therefore,
cannot be folded, stapled or mutilated in any way. Errant marking of the form will cause it to be rejected. We also
request that you pay particular attention to the instructions on the form so that errors may be minimized. Thank

HOLLIS RENAISSANCE PROPOSALS FOR 1998-99
The Deans' Council is accepting proposals from faculty for funds from the Hollis Renaissance Program. This
program has been providing grants for the past few years, several of which are ongoing. However, there is a
limited amount of money available for 1998-99. You are advised to talk with your dean for additional information.
Proposals should be submitted by January 31, 1998.
The underlying theme of the Hollis Renaissance Programs is that they are academically sound and exciting, and
that they offer opportunities for partnerships between students and faculty and between Stetson and the external
community. An ideal project would be one where an outstanding new academic program is created, the faculty
members recruit excellent students for the program, external contracts provide internship opportunities and
ultimately job placement, and external partners so involved with the university that they make a commitment for
