Greetings:
Welcome back to the fold. With Fourth of July celebrations safely
tucked away in memory, Stetson University students buckled down this week to
mid-term examinations. Half of the summer session has already slipped away,
although it seems scarcely to have begun.

Tonight is scheduled one of the outstanding social events of the
summer season — the traditional vratermelon cutting. Summer students, faculty
members, University officials, their wives, husbands, and children, are
invited to gather under the trees in front of the Commons - or in back of
Chaudoin hall - to help demolish dozens of cold, juicy watermelons. The
cutting will take place at 7:30, so don't be late.

IMPORTANT NOTICE — All students wishing to try out for parts in
the Work Shop plays, please report at the Stover Theater on Friday, July 8,
at 2:00 p.m. Professor H« P. Constans, head of the department of speech at
the University of Florida, has charge of dramatics this summer, while Professor Irving C. Stover fills his placs at Gainesville.

ALL CANDIDATES FOP. DEGRESS IN AUGUST, who have not yet made arrangements for caps and gowns, should see Miss Oiga Bowen, registrar, at once.
Commencement exercises for students completing their requirements this summer
will be Saturday, August 6. The group voted to wear academic costumes at the
exercises.
Thirty-two students are on the list to receive their sheepskins
before the summer wears away. Nine of these are candidates for the Master
of Arts degree; ten are seeking B.A* degrees; two, Bachelor of Science degrees;
and one, Bachelor of Music* Six students will receive Normal Certificate
diplomas, and four lawyers will finish at the end of the second lav/ term,
September 2nd.
If any seniors would like Stetson rings, orders should be placed
soon with Miss Bowen or Carroll Ezell.

Miss Bowen leaves Saturday, July 9, for Crystal Lake, Michigan,
where she will spend her summer vacation. If you have anything to straighten
out with her in regard to grades, credits, etc., Miss Bowen suggests that
you see frer before she leaves. The first of August will find her back on the
campus for the final week of the summer term.
