NO FOURTH ON THE FIFTH —
It Is to be regretted, says
Dean Charles G. Smith, that the
Fourth of July so inconsiderately
falls on a Thursday this year. He
has been besieged with suggestions that classes be done away
with on the succeeding Friday,
and perhaps held on Saturday instead. But, Dean says that we
should view the matter in its proper light. Too many of our students have schedules arranged
which permit the use of regularly free Saturdays for other activities, and that the summer session classes must proceed according to the announced routine. Enjoy the Fourth, he enjoins, but
let's all cooperate and come to
class bright and early on the 1
Fifth.
DROP IN FOR TEA —
Miss Lola B. McCollough, the
Dean of Women, will be at home to
all summer school women, faculty
v/omen, and faculty wives on Monday afternoon, June 24, from 4:30
to 5:30, Chaudoin Hall.
Misses Etter Turner, Annie
Holden and Barbara Rov/e will assist with the tea. Some of the
Stetson undergraduate women will
also assist in serving.
"Since it is impossible to
reach every woman by special invitation, a very cordial Invitation is extended through the News
Letter to each one," Bean McCollough said.
"May I also extend to each a
cordial Invitation to drop in to
see me both at Chaudoin Hall and
at my office in Elizabeth Hall,
The parlors of Chaudoin are for •
your use," Miss McCollough concluded.
