COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES
SATURDAY AFTERNOON WILL
END SEVENTH SUMMER TERM
Dean Smith Will Address Graduates
And Confer Record Number
of Degrees
Graduating exercises for
nearly forty Stetson University
students will be held Saturday
afternoon, bringing the institution's seventh summer session to
a successful close.
The black-robed academic procession, composed of faculty and
students, will make its v/ay down
the aisle of Elizabeth Hall auditorium at 5 o'clock.
Degrees and normal certificate diplomas will be conferred
upon the graduates - largest
summer group in the history of
the university - by Dean Charl.es
G. Smith, who will also make a
brief address.
Four of the students are candidates for the master of arts
degree, with majors in biology,
English, and education. They
are Dorothy Fuller and Frances
Ogilvie of DeLand, Edwin Libbey
of New Smyrna Beach, and Glenn
McKay of Sanford.
The others are seeking bachelor's degrees in arts, science,
music, and law, and normal certificate diplomas.
Guy Hamilton of Daytona Beach,
an outstanding baritone who has
appeared on opera, concert, and
musical comedy stages in New
York and Chicago and has sung
over the NBC radio network, will.
sing several solos.
Mrs. Eulalie Wooten, instructor in art and an accomplished
organist, v/ill play the processional and recessional marches.
The invocation will be given

HOLD DELIGHTFUL FUNCTION
IN HONOR OF SUMMER GRADS
Dean and Mrs. Charles G.
Smith will entertain the members
of the graduating classes Friday
evening from 8 to 9 o'clock at
their home on the University
Terraces.
Dean and Mrs. Paul E. Raymond
and Dr. and Mrs. W.E. Duckwitz
will be in the house party receiving with the host and hostess.
The Misses Frances Ogilvie
and Dorothy Fuller will serve
punch assisted by the Misses
Louise Randall and Eunice Webber.
