LIVE in Elizabeth Hall, September 26, 7:30 p.m.-Soprano Mollie Rich, tenor Robert Rich, and pianist Michael
Rickman will perform works by Purcell, Mahler, Dupare, and Schumann. The recital will begin with songs by Henry
Purcell, the first great English composer, in celebration of the 300th anniversary of his birth. Professor Mollie Rich
is spending her sabbatical leave in Italy, where she taught voice at the Institute for Early Music, and in Vienna,
where she studied the Mahler songs at the Musik Hochschule Wien. and will travel to Germany for the winter and
spring to study with internationally-known voice teacher Horst Gu'nter. From: Jan Kindred
REMINDER. The Faculty Senate will meet Monday, October 2. Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m. in the Private Dining
Room of the Carlton Union Building. The meeting will follow at 6:45 in the Faculty Lounge. Dinner and the
meeting are open to all faculty. Anyone wishing to make a reservation for the dinner should call Jeff Horn, ext.

ATTENTION FACULTY: Class rolls for the grade inventory have been distributed. Please record any "D" or "F"
grades that you have, verify by your signature that the rolls are correct, and return all rolls, even if you have no
D or F grades to report, to this office by 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2. If you have any questions, or have not
received a grade roll for a class, please call ext. 7142. We appreciate your cooperation in this most important

The Stetson University Board of Trustees, in response to the September 8 resolution passed by the State Board
of Missions of the Florida Baptist Convention, approved a companion resolution at its September 15 meeting on
the DeLand Campus. The State Board of Missions resolution calls for the termination of a formal relationship
between Stetson University and the Florida Baptist Convention. This resolution will be officially acted on, and we
would expect approved, by the delegates of the Florida Baptist Convention at their annual meeting in November,
1995. Stetson University has had a long and important relationship with the churches of the Florida Baptist
Convention. Through our newly-formed interfaith Church Relations Council, we will continue to pursue working
relationships with those religious bodies and denominations which choose to become associated with us, and we
will continue to enhance our religious heritage in a way that is consistent with the mission, charter, and values of

ENGLISH TUTORING LAB is now available Monday and Wednesday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday
4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in 101 Davis Hall. The lab is an extra resource for students seeking to improve their writing,
staffed by trained tutors from the graduate program in English. The lab is primarily designed to assist students in
Freshman English courses, and they will be given priority for assistance. However, all students mav use the lab.
The tutors will help students to recognize strengths and weaknesses in their work and to plan revisions to improve
it. Tutors can answer questions about grammar and citation. From: Norma Dean
The discussion group on religious/political social movements will have its first meeting of the year next Friday,
September 29, at noon in Room 314 Elizabeth Hall. This is an informal group, so join us if you have an interest
