COMMENCEMENT-Saturday, December 14, 9:00 a.m., Edmunds Center. The December Commencement is
scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 9:00 a.m. in the Edmunds Center. Dr. Gareth Williams, 1994 McEniry
Award winner is the Speaker and Lisa Stewart has been selected as the Student Speaker. The faculty line of
march will form at 8:30 a.m. in the west downstairs corridor of the Edmunds Center. A reception immediately

Consultant on Evening and/or Weekend Program
As part of my responsibility as chair of the Revenue Enhancement Committee of the President's Staff, I have been
exploring a variety of ways to identify sources of new revenue for the University. Undergraduate tuition will
always be our primary source of revenue, but it is prudent for us to think about supplemental sources if they fit
with our mission. With that in mind I have arranged to bring in a consultant to apprise us of the opportunities and
problems associated with developing an undergraduate evening and/or weekend program aimed primarily at adult
learners. The consultant's name is Dr. Paul Sable, and he will be on campus Monday-Wednesday, January 6-8.
He will meet with administrators and faculty to see what our interest level might be, and to bring his knowledge
and experience to our discussions as we think about this possibility. Paul is a former colleague of mine, who ran
a very successful Evening Division Program for me at Albright College and who served as President of the National
Honor Society for Adult Students. I think he will be helpful to our discussions.
I have been talking with Susan Wilson about a time for the Faculty Senate and other interested faculty to meet
with the consultant, and we will publicize that time in the next Newsletter and on the Faculty-I. Please direct any
